    Start the New Year Off With Girls in Tech Boise

    Girls in Tech Boise wishes you a Happy New Year!  If you are like us, each year, you set a few resolutions and then completely forget about them as you get back into the daily routine following all the Holiday fun.

    Not this year!  In fact, we are inviting you to join us in accomplishing our resolution as we seek to learn more about the technical landscape in which we reside.  In 2011, our monthly gatherings will feature workshops and meetings geared to help each of us understand and navigate the seemingly constant changing technical scene.  Introducing Technology Unraveled!  Technology Unraveled will feature tips and tricks for tech devices, information, skill improvements - anything and everything you need to be even more successful in both your personal and professional lives.

    We are kicking off Technology Unraveled, Wednesday, January 5th with a session on building your personal brand.  Our featured panelists (including their Twitter bios - which we love): 

    Lisa McGrath - New media lawyer & skier who thinks sleep is for the birds.  I run Lisa Mcgrath LLC, am founder of Social Media Club BOI & organizer of ID Startup Weekend. 

    Allison Mewes - Boise Sales & Mktg Project Mgr, book devourer, trail runner, lover of the foothills, tennis.  Owner of Blue Bamboo Project Svcs. Serving God while I'm at it all!-

    Holiday Party Week is Here

    We hope that everyone enjoyed a Snow Day last Wednesday and is all rested up - ready to celebrate all things tech this Wednesday, December 8th from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at Nebula Shift.

    The Girls in Tech Boise/TechBoise party kicks off the Holiday Season in style with Scott Harris of Apriori giving us his perspective on starting a company and the ins and outs of their efforts. Our sponsor SolutionPro is providing beverages and appetizers.  We will also collect gifts to help St. Luke's with their efforts to provide Christmas for those families in need.  A list of suggested gift ideas is available here.  You do not need to bring a gift to attend.  Come, enjoy good food and company and kick the Season off in true tech style!

    Stay in the Holiday Spirit and join Kickstand at their annual Holiday Party at the Discovery Center of Idaho the following night, Thursday, December 9th.  Join with your fellow entrepreneurs and innovators and celebrate 2010 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.  Woody Sobey, the Education Director for the Discovery Center will provide a special presentation too.   RSVP here.

    Tech Holiday Extravaganza Postponed to Dec 8th

    Have you looked out your window?  The snow is BEAUTIFUL!

    Girls in Tech Boise and TechBoise want you to enjoy the snow day with your friends, family, pets, neighbors - anyone ad everyone.  

    We are postponing the Tech Holiday Extravaganza to next Wednesday, December 8th - same time, place, everything - just a less snowy Wednesday evening (hopefully).

    If you get a chance, go outside and build a snowman, have a snowball fight, make a snow angel - then get inside and warm up by a cozy fire and enjoy some hot cocoa.  Its what snow days are all about!

    Stay safe and warm and we will see you at the holiday party on the 8th!
